Bicycle Servicing

Bicycle Servicing, Tailored to Your Bike

Every bike comes into the workshop with its own story — how it's ridden, how it's been treated, and what's quietly drifted out of adjustment. So rather than push a fixed package, I service the bike in front of me. I'll tell you what it genuinely needs, what can wait, and what's still got plenty of life left.

How I approach servicing

The aim is simple: a bike that does exactly what you ask of it, every ride. To get there I work from first principles — find the cause, not just the symptom.

  • Inspect: a free safety check across brakes, gears, drivetrain, bearings and contact points.
  • Explain: a clear, honest breakdown of what's worn or out of tune.
  • Quote: a price you see before any work starts.
  • Fix: proper adjustment and replacement where it's actually needed.

Most servicing is completed within 24-72 hours. Parts or complex jobs may take longer — I'll always say so first. Collection and delivery available by request for a small fee.

Questions riders ask me

What's included in a bicycle service?

It's tailored to the bike, but typically: safety check, gear and brake setup, drivetrain clean and wear check, bearing and bolt checks, tyres and pressures. You get an honest report at the end.

How do I know which level of service I need?

You don't have to guess. Bring it in, I'll do the free check and recommend the right level for how the bike's actually being used.

How much does servicing cost?

Because every bike's different, the check and quote are free and the price reflects what yours actually needs — nothing padded on.

How long will it be in the workshop?

Usually 24-72 hours. If something needs ordering or it's a full overhaul, I'll give you a realistic timeframe upfront.

Can you pick the bike up?

Yes — collection and delivery is available by request for a small fee.

Bike not feeling right?

Start with the free safety check. I'll inspect it, explain what's going on, and give you a clear quote before any paid work starts.
