  1. Ask us for a written quote showing the exact items and price.
  2. Apply through your employer's provider (Cyclescheme, Gogeta or GCI) using our quote. Your employer approves it.
  3. Collect from our workshop at Unit 1, The Swan Centre, Rosemary Road, London SW17 0AR. Bring your certificate or voucher code.

SRAM GX Eagle Transmission MTB Groupset | 55 mm Chainline, 174 mm Q-Factor – Fitted by Bike Clinique

If you’re after a bombproof, high-performance MTB drivetrain that won’t break the bank, the SRAM GX Eagle Transmission is my go-to recommendation. We’ve installed a bunch of these for customers at Bike Clinique, and it’s a proper workhorse—reliable, smooth, and built to handle anything the UK trails can throw at it.

Why We Fit It at Bike Clinique:
The GX Eagle Transmission is perfect for riders who want top-tier shifting and durability, but at a more accessible price point. It’s not just a “budget” option—it’s SRAM’s proven technology, just using slightly less exotic materials than the XX or X0. We’ve seen these groupsets stand up to daily abuse, rough weather, and big mileage without missing a beat.

The rear mech mounts directly to UDH frames—no hanger to bend, no faff. Plus, the shifting is genuinely impressive, even under heavy load. If you want a groupset that just works, day in and day out, this is it.

What We Install:

  • Crank: GX Eagle, full aluminium, available in 165, 170, or 175 mm—stiff, light, and tough enough for year-round riding.

  • Chainring: 32T, designed for wide (55 mm) chainlines.

  • Cassette: GX Eagle Transmission, 10-52T (12-speed), 520% gear range. X-SYNC tech means you can shift under power—no hesitation, no crunching.

  • Rear Derailleur: GX Eagle Transmission, direct-mount (UDH only), with overload clutch for extra protection.

  • Chain: GX Eagle Transmission Flattop—unique flat-top design for extra strength and smoothness, even on e-bikes.

  • Controller: AXS Pod (electronic), right side, with a really intuitive “click and fire” feel.

Specs at a Glance:

  • Gearing: 12-speed (10-52T cassette)

  • Chainline: 55 mm (Wide)

  • Q-Factor: 174 mm

  • Crank Lengths: 165, 170, 175 mm

  • Freehub: SRAM XD

  • Compatibility: UDH frames only; not backwards compatible with older Eagle drivetrains

  • Material Highlights: Cassette (aluminium/steel), crank (aluminium), controller (aluminium/plastic)

  • Colour Options: Cassette & chain (black, Dark Polar), derailleur & controller (black)

  • Weight: 2016g (170 mm crank, weighed in-house)

Real-World Performance:
Our customers love the GX Eagle Transmission for its no-nonsense reliability and the fact it just keeps working, even when the weather turns grim. Shifting under load is smooth and predictable, and the direct-mount design means less maintenance and fewer headaches. It’s a proper upgrade for anyone looking to boost their bike’s performance without going overboard on cost.

Fitted by Bike Clinique:
We’ve set these up on everything from trail bikes to hardcore commuters. If you want to know if it’ll fit your frame or want a pro install, drop us a line or pop into the Wimbledon workshop. We’ll get you sorted with a groupset that’s dialled from day one.
