Bike Mechanic

A Mechanic Who Gets It

When something's wrong with your bike, you don't need jargon or a shrug — you need someone who gets it and knows what to do. That's the whole reason I started Bike Clinique back in 2012. Bring your bike to the workshop, tell me what it's doing, and I'll find the cause, explain it in plain English, and fix it properly.

Why riders bring their bikes to me

I've built this around one idea: it's usually not you, it's the setup. A bike that's been put together carelessly will always feel like hard work, and no amount of effort on your part fixes that. So I take the time to:

  • Listen to how the bike actually behaves on your rides
  • Run a free safety check to find the real cause
  • Explain what I've found without the mystery
  • Quote clearly, then do the work to a standard I'd want on my own bike

Let me take care of the bike — you just enjoy the ride.

Questions riders ask me

Are you a qualified bike mechanic?

Yes — I've been working on bikes professionally since 2012, from everyday commuters to high-end road builds. The workshop at The Swan Centre is where it all happens.

Can I just describe the problem rather than diagnose it?

Please do. "It clicks when I pedal hard" or "it just feels wrong" is exactly what I want to hear. Finding the cause is my job, not yours.

What does it cost to have you look at my bike?

The safety check and quote are free. You only pay once you've agreed the work and the price.

How quickly can you turn a job around?

Most jobs are back within 24-72 hours. Minor fixes can sometimes be done same-day by request; bigger jobs or parts orders take a little longer and I'll tell you upfront.

Do you offer collection?

Yes, by request for a small fee, if getting to the workshop is tricky.

Bike not feeling right?

Start with the free safety check. I'll inspect it, explain what's going on, and give you a clear quote before any paid work starts.
