Squeaky Disc Brakes Fixed in London

Brake squeal is more than annoying. It usually signals contamination, glazing, misalignment or a warped rotor. We identify the root cause at our Swan Centre workshop and fix it properly, not just mask the noise.

Hydraulic disc brake diagnosis

Bleed quality, piston balance, rotor alignment, pad contamination and lever feel checked properly.

Road, gravel, MTB and e-bike

Shimano, SRAM, Magura, TRP/Tektro and e-bike brake systems inspected at the SW17 workshop.

Quote before work

Free drop-off check first. If paid work is needed, we explain the fault and quote before work starts.

What we look for

  • Pad and rotor contamination diagnosis and treatment
  • Glazed pad surface restoration or replacement
  • Caliper alignment and mount-face cleaning
  • Rotor truing and runout measurement

Why brake problems need proper diagnosis

Squealing, rubbing or weak braking is not always solved by fitting new pads. Contamination, glazing, warped rotors, poor bleed, uneven pistons, hose issues or the wrong pad compound can all cause the same symptoms. Bike Clinique checks the system as a whole so the fix is the right one.

FAQs

Why are my disc brakes squealing?

Common causes include oil or cleaning product contamination on the pads or rotor, glazed pad surfaces, a misaligned caliper, or a bent rotor. We inspect for free to find the exact cause.

Can contaminated brake pads be saved?

Sometimes light contamination can be cleaned, but in most cases replacement pads are the reliable fix. We will advise honestly during your free inspection.

Will new pads stop the noise?

Only if pads are the problem. If the rotor is contaminated or the caliper is misaligned, new pads alone will not solve it. We diagnose before we replace anything.
